Title: Anger Management vs. Batterer Intervention: Understanding the Critical Differences
Duration: 90 Minutes | Format: Live Online Training
Many professionals mistakenly assume that anger management and batterer intervention programs (BIPs) are interchangeable. However, failing to distinguish between them can lead to ineffective interventions, continued harm, and missed opportunities for meaningful change.
This essential webinar will break down the key differences between these programs, explore how power and control—not just anger—drive domestic violence, and provide guidance on making appropriate referrals.
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:
- Identify at least three key differences between anger management and batterer intervention programs.
- Explain the role of power and control in domestic violence and how it differs from generalized anger issues.
- Describe how batterer intervention programs prioritize victim safety and accountability.
Who Should Attend?
Probation officers, social workers, domestic violence facilitators, therapists, court personnel, and anyone involved in intervention or referral processes.

Training Cancellation & Transfer Policy
Yorke Consulting trainings are intentionally limited in size to support an interactive, high-quality learning experience. Once a training reaches capacity, registration is closed and additional participants are not accepted. Because a cancellation may result in a training seat that can no longer be filled, the following cancellation policy applies:
More Than 10 Days Before the Training
Cancellations received more than 10 calendar days before the training start date are eligible for a refund, less a 10% administrative and processing fee.
6–10 Days Before the Training
Cancellations received 6–10 calendar days before the training start date are eligible for a 50% refund. As an alternative to a refund, the participant may request that the full registration amount be applied as a credit toward a future Yorke Consulting training.
5 Days or Fewer Before the Training
Cancellations received 5 calendar days or fewer before the training start date are nonrefundable. However, the registration may be transferred to another participant, or, with approval, the registration fee may be applied as a credit toward a future Yorke Consulting training.
Training Credits
Training credits must be used within 12 months of the original training date and may be applied toward another Yorke Consulting training of equal or greater value. Any difference in registration cost will be the responsibility of the participant.
Participant Substitutions
Participant substitutions are welcome when circumstances prevent the original registrant from attending. Please notify Yorke Consulting before the training begins so registration and training records can be updated. Agency registrations may be transferred to another employee of the same agency at no additional charge.
No-Shows
Participants who do not attend and have not contacted Yorke Consulting before the training begins are not eligible for a refund or training credit.
Self-Study and Online Training Materials
For trainings that include advance access to online courses, videos, downloadable materials, or other proprietary training resources, refunds or credits may be limited once those materials have been accessed.
If Yorke Consulting Cancels or Reschedules a Training
If Yorke Consulting cancels a training, participants may choose either a full refund or transfer of the full registration amount to another Yorke Consulting training. If a training is rescheduled, participants who are unable to attend the new date may choose a refund or training credit.
Yorke Consulting understands that unexpected circumstances and emergencies occur. Exceptions to this policy may be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Yorke Consulting.
